Riding "Chiva"
A "chiva" is an old colorful bus without windows, that different towns used in the past as a means of public transport for people and commercial goods, sometimes you could even see chickens travelling on top of the bus. Nowadays this has become harder to see, but people still use it for tourism and entertainment. In the big cities you now see them used to party on them with a large dancefloor and poles to hold on to. Meanwhile, in Carmen de Apicalá our friend Mr. Juan Lozano has an antique bus he turned into a chiva that he can use for parties and during the day for regional tours. He takes people to different viewpoints, around town, to waterfalls or even to places like La Chamba. If you'd like to take a ride on his chiva called "La Coqueta" (the flirtyone), let us know and we'll book it for you!
